Premiering the Gateway Arts District T-shirt!

Thanks to the generous support of the Maryland State Arts Council and local sponsors, the Hyattsville CDC was able to design and produce our first ever Gateway Arts District T- Shirt!  The shirt will be premiered at the Hyattsville Arts Festival on Saturday.  The unique design of this shirt and the collection of local businesses and organizations supporting it highlights the creative, dynamic, and fun character of the Gateway Arts District.  Can’t wait to get your hands on one and support the arts district?  Come visit the Hyattsville CDC at the festival welcome booth.  Anyone who donates $25 or more to our Gateway Arts District Program Fund will receive a Gateway Arts District T-Shirt as a thank you!  (While supplies last)  Your donation allows the Hyattsville CDC to continue producing high-quality arts events and public art projects that innovate, create, and inspire our community!

Special Thanks to the following Local Organizations and Business Partners: Grooming by Em, Bikram Yoga Riverdale Park, The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, Tanglewood Works, StudioHue, and Councilmember Deni Taveras, District 2

A Gateway to the Arts

A snapshot over the past 8 years:

An annual destination for the DC metropolitan area, Hyattsville’s Route 1 Corridor is proud to be a home for a homegrown, authentic community for the County’s Gateway Arts District. The Festival, originally developed by EYA in concert with the community to promote the Hyattsville area and the Arts District Hyattsville townhomes and shoppes, now builds upon downtown’s restaurant cluster for a day of publicity, heightened awareness, and new customers. Since 2012, the Festival has been organized by the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation.

Become a part of this annual event by becoming a member of the Hyattsville CDC: With your support, we can better generate outcomes that build audience, partnerships, and fundraising throughout Hyattsville and the growing economic nodes on and near Route 1.

What past attendees and exhibitors had to say:

  • “The musicians were one of the best showcases in any event we have attended.”
  • “Well planned and promoted.”
  • “Keep having the Festival. It is by far the best of its kind that I have participated in and I’ve been doing festivals in the area for ten years. Hands down Hyattsville beats them all!”
  • “Throughout Hyattsville’s downtown transformation, it still retains its welcoming and neighborly front-porch feel.”

Please feel free to give us feedback on 2014’s Festival with a short survey!
