COVID-19 & The 2020 Hyattsville Arts Festival
To our cherished Artists, Patrons, Vendors, Musicians, Sponsors, and Friends,
We hope you all have remained healthy and safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Hyattsville CDC Staff and Board of Directors made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Downtown Hyattsville Arts Festival, previously scheduled for September 19, 2020.
This due to the continued uncertainty related to the pandemic; and the need for all of us to practice responsible social distancing to protect those vulnerable to the virus.
We held off making the decision as long as we could; and certainly struggled with this decision. “The show must go on” is in our DNA, and this is the first time in 12 years that the Hyattsville Arts Festival will not take place.
We only too well understand the gravity of the situation for local artists and musicians who utilize our event to promote their work; for the visitors who enthusiastically support our local artists; and for the City of Hyattsville and its businesses and vendors who rely on the activity that the Arts Festival attracts.
We will do everything we can to continue to support you, and we will look forward to seeing you again soon and in 2021 at the next festival.
