Preparations Crescendo for the Downtown Hyattsville Arts Festival: Arts and Ales

HYATTSVILLE, MD – The Hyattsville Community Development Corporation enters its final planning stages for the 11th Annual Downtown Hyattsville Arts Festival, to occur on Saturday, September 22nd from 12-6pm. In partnership with the City of Hyattsville and M-NCPPC, “Arts and Ales,” as the festival is known locally, will include over 100 jury-selected artists and artisans, dozens of food truck and drink vendors, craft breweries, and performances on the mainstage. The festival will return to last year’s 3 block site in downtown Hyattsville, spanning three streets. The event is free to the public and expects to attract over 5,000 visitors to Hyattsville.

The festival continues to grow each year as local creatives look forward to the opportunity to show and sell their work on a regional scale. This festival is a manifestation of the regional trend of using the arts to drive commerce and revitalize the Route One Corridor. Mounting interest in the festival shows just how impactful the event has been in solidifying Hyattsville and the Prince George’s County Gateway Arts District as a destination for arts and culture.

Accepted artists, craftsmen, and activities will be announced in the coming weeks, including a schedule of children’s art activities and music and dance performances.

Beer servings will be available for purchase (ages 21+). Visit http://hyattsvillearts.com for more information. Structured and metered parking as well as limited free parking will be available for visitors in designated lots.
