The Brewers Association of Maryland (BAM), founded in 1996, is the non-profit trade association of Maryland brewing companies. The mission of BAM is to promote and protect Maryland Beer.

BAM currently produces two annual large-scale events; in Spring, The Maryland Craft Beer Festival on Carroll Creek in Downtown Frederick, and in Autumn, The Baltimore Craft Beer Festival in the heart of the City of Baltimore. Both of these events directly fund the mission of the Brewers Association of Maryland.

The brewing industry in Maryland dates back to the American colonial period, when the first brewing company in the colony opened in Annapolis in 1703. With a rich history of over 300 years, BAM is committed to continuing the proud tradition of crafting world class beer in the Old Line State. Maryland craft breweries continue to grow and support local communities, from small business owners to the family farm. Please support Maryland beer. The City of Hyattsville is a diverse and welcoming community that celebrates our small town character, urban energy, and environmental stewardship. The City of Hyattsville Department of Recreation is responsible for providing City residents with cultural and recreational activities that promote a sense of community and foster civic pride. The Department offers numerous events and activities throughout the year as well as oversees the operations of City Parks and Ballfields.

The Revenue Authority of Prince George's County is a quasi-governmental entity that serves as a real estate development and development finance agency, an operator of programs and facilities, and a manager of programs and facilities in partnership with other County agencies.

PGAHC contracts with consultants who are recognized specialists in their fields to assist in core program areas and provide key services. With the assistance of our consulting staff, PGAHC maintains a signature public art program, a vibrant arts education program, a literary focused humanities platform and a resource portal for film and digital media .

Now in its 12th year, Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair is an exhibition and sale of handmade goods from independent artists presented by the Washington City Paper. Crafty Bastards will be held outdoors on Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at Union Market. Tickets sold online in advance are $5 each day (ticket price subject to change). An agency of the Department of Business & Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and technical assistance to non profit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities. Funding for the Maryland State Arts Council is also provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Maryland Milestones, a brand established in 2012 by Anacostia Trails Heritage Area Inc., highlights the first and “unique” moments which have occurred (or are occurring) in the Maryland Certified Anacostia Trails Heritage Area. This program brings information about these “milestones” to the public and makes connections between the history, culture, and nature of the region. Additionally, the Maryland Milestones brand emphasizes the importance travel, trade, and communication have played in the region – through turnpikes, highways, parkways, aviation, telegraphs, and train travel. This program will include updated signage, information kiosks, a heritage center, and interpretive program trails.

By shaping NextNOW audiences, experiences and artists, The Clarice breaks through traditional boundaries in art-making and audience development through the work of its 5 partners:

WE TESTED 100 HEALTHY ADULTS 
After determining a reliable way to accurately measure dehydration in a 2012 pilot study, an independent laboratory was contracted to measure rehydration. The study was a randomized double-blind study of 50 men and 50 women, ages 25-49. All subjects were dehydrated by aerobic exercise, rehydrated, and observed for two hours.

Deni Taveras (D)-District 2 was elected to her first four-year term on the Prince George's County Council in the 2014 General Election. Council Member Taveras represents the communities of Adelphi, Avondale, Brentwood, Carole Highlands, Chillum, Green Meadows, Hyattsville, Langley Park, Lewisdale, Mount Rainier and North Brentwood.

Council Member Taveras serves on three Council committees in Legislative Year 2015 -- Planning, Zoning and Economic Development (PZED); Public Safety and Fiscal Management (PSFM); and Transportation, Housing and the Environment (THE).

Council Member Taveras has over 15 years of experience as a policy analyst within local, state and federal government, as well as international financial institutions and the World Bank.  Prior to her election to the County Council, she facilitated bills through the legislative process as Chief of Staff for Maryland State Senator Victor R. Ramirez.  During her time of service at the federal level, Council Member Taveras enforced environmental laws at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  As part of her commitment to public service she worked at the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help recovering communities get back on their feet after Hurricane Katrina and other disasters.

Council Member Taveras holds a dual Masters in Public Affairs and Urban Regional Planning Degree from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School.  She also holds a MS and BA in chemistry from the University of Utah, and Barnard College, respectively.

A strong advocate for social justice issues, Council Member Taveras seeks to improve the lives of working families and diverse communities.  As a Council Member, she is working to create economic development opportunities, improve quality of life and education, increase pedestrian safety, and provide support for the seniors of District 2.  Council Member Taveras has an open door policy and welcomes her constituents to contact her and her staff as they work together to ensure that the District 2 community is a great place to live.

Council Member Taveras lives in Adelphi with her beloved Shih Tzu, Lucky.  She is very active in her homeowners association and attends Grace DC Church.
